Forever Elevator… feather in air.
L/H 2010
With a new season comes a new beginning.
Last season my focus was ‘French sensibilities in Toronto referencing Montreal & Paris’ however my focus didn’t quite work out as I had hoped. Caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I was unable to devote the time that was required to research my subject matter. Frustrated, tired and unhappy with the pace my life was moving at, I decided to clear my mind by spending my holidays in Paris. When I returned home however, I knew that things would never be the same. Refreshed, rejuvenated and inspired, my focus shifted towards minimalism, creativity, femininity and… the future: pressing forward and moving upward in the direction of one’s dreams.
Living is important and many of us never take the opportunity to do it. What if could live your life the way you wanted to and achieve the things you never thought imaginable? You can it just takes the courage and the strength to do it.
For L’Autmn/Hiver 2010 bel.esprit will explore freedom of expression based on the principal of living for ones-self. Special attention will be given to people, places and movements that cultivate the sharing and exchange of ideas that create unification through individuality.
My summer holiday did more than just recharge my batteries… I refined my identity: Forever Elevator… feather in air. An identity that serves as a constant reminder to keep moving forward and achieve all that life has to offer me. With that belief in mind this fall, I’ve taken a leap of faith. Leaving everything behind, I relocated to Paris and my new journey starts here.
I’ll keep you posted on where it takes me.

Elisa Monique

Un Homage…
P/L 2010
With over 100 languages & dialects spoken, Toronto is truly a city like no other. Although one of Canada’s leading cities, Toronto has yet to be portrayed with the sense of grandeur it deserves on the world stage. Perhaps a sense of modesty - it is Canadian after all… a place where residents don’t constantly toot their own horns.
Secretly I love Toronto but if you ask, I’ll quickly say that Montreal’s my hometown. I have a strong desire for French culture in this English city which is often hard to find. There are gems however, hidden away as best keep secrets waiting to be found.
This year I’ve started a new love affair with Toronto - a process of discovery if you will, getting lost in the City of Neighbourhoods that has been my home for nearly two decades. Driven by endless need for French sensibility this summer I’ll discover the hidden gems that pay homage to my hometown and of course… Paris, the City of Light.
Perhaps on my journey I’ll find the quintessential Frenchman. I’m in the mood for romance and with summer arriving - its definitely the right time.
